Wisdom Tree Honor Code

In order to honor my Lord, Jesus, I will live a life which reflects trust, honesty, and respect for my classmates, all teachers including my parents, and all property.

All lying, cheating, stealing, and other dishonorable acts separate me from my relationship with God, my peers, and my teachers.  I will follow this code to show my respect for Wisdom Tree Christian Fellowship as I strive to glorify God and love others.

Honor
“Honor your father and mother, just as the Lord your God commanded you. Then you will live a long time in the land he is giving you. And things will go well with you there.” Deuteronomy 5:16

Humility
“No one has greater love than the one who gives his life for his friends.” John 15:13

Obedience
“Children, obey your parents in everything. That pleases the Lord.”  Colossians 3:20

Purity
“Finally, my brothers and sisters, always think about what is true. Think about what is noble, right and pure. Think about what is lovely and worthy of respect. If anything is excellent or worthy of praise, think about those kinds of things.”  Philippians 4:8

Thankfulness
“Do everything without finding fault or arguing.” Philippians 2:14

 Kindness
“You should each give what you have decided in your heart to give. You shouldn't give if you don't want to. You shouldn't give because you are forced to. God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7

Diligence
“Let us not become tired of doing good. At the right time we will gather a crop if we don't give up.” Galatians 6:9

Self-Control
“Don't let evil overcome you. Overcome evil by doing good.” Romans 12:21

 Honesty
“Then keep your tongues from speaking evil. Keep your lips from telling lies.” Psalm 34:13

Behavior Expectations

Wisdom Tree children are expected to be aware of and adhere to the following:

Children are expected to cooperate with basic Christian standards of behavior and conversation.

Children should:

  • Be respectful and polite. Talking back to or arguing with teachers is not appropriate.
  • Promptly and cheerfully obey.
  • Follow requests from the teacher after the first request.
  • Children are not allowed to chew gum or have electrical music devices, guns or knives on campus
  • Beepers and cell phones must be turned off during school hours.
  • Children are expected to be aware of and avoid the off-limits areas of the building or grounds.
  • Children are expected to treat all school materials and facilities with respect and care.
  • Children may be charged for any damage to the fellowship’s property that they have caused.

 Attendance

Children enrolled in Wisdom Tree are expected to be present and on time every day school is in session. The actual number of school days is posted on the school calendar in the back of the handbook. Due to the limited number of in-class days, it is vital that children attend each day and period. Personal appointments and activities should be scheduled on days when class is not in session. Excessive absences may hinder a child’s ability to master necessary content. In the case of an unplanned absence, parents should contact the teachers as soon as possible on the day the child misses. In the case of a planned absence, parents should notify teachers as much in advance as possible. Parents are responsible for obtaining any missed assignments from teachers and ensuring that their children get caught up on concepts and work missed.
